Technologies and solutions for PFAS management
The first International Symposium on PFAS aims to become an annual forum involving technology providers, industrial stakeholders, public and private organizations, researchers, and decision-makers actively engaged in PFAS containment.
The Symposium is structured as a two-day event focused on concrete solutions, applied technologies, and case histories regarding remediation and contaminated site management.
Scope and Topics - Area 1
Applied technologies and solutions for PFAS treatment
This area is dedicated to innovative technologies that have reached at least a pre-industrial scale, with clear potential for industrial application.
Relevant topics include (but are not limited to):
- Applied projects for PFAS removal, destruction, or transformation
- Advanced treatment technologies for drinking water, wastewater, soil, sludge, and industrial matrices
- Adsorption, separation, concentration, destruction, and hybrid processes
- Performance data, scalability, operational constraints, and economic considerations
- Lessons learned from pilot implementations
- Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and pathways toward industrial implementation
Scope and Topics - Area 2
Real-world experiences and case studies on PFAS containment
This track focuses on application experiences where PFAS contamination has been managed, contained, mitigated, or controlled in real-world operating environments. Relevant submissions may include:
- Case studies of industrial sites, airports, landfills, or public and private contaminated areas
- Applied strategies for PFAS containment in specific matrices (water, soil, sediments, waste streams, industrial processes)
- Applied risk mitigation approaches and monitoring strategies
- Decision-making processes and stakeholder engagement
- Long-term management and performance evaluation.
Who can submit a contribution
The Call for Abstracts is open to:
- Technology providers and engineering firms
- Industrial operators and infrastructure managers (e.g., airports, utilities, manufacturing sites)
- Environmental consultants and solution integrators
- Research centers and applied research institutes
- Public agencies and regulatory stakeholders involved in PFAS management
Guidelines for Submission
- Abstract length: max 500 words
- Language: Italian or English
- Content: clear description of objectives, methodology, results, and practical implications
- Selection criteria: technical relevance, clarity, applicability, and contribution to practical PFAS management
Selected submissions will be invited for an oral presentation and included in the official Symposium proceedings.
